Class description

We offer a variety classes to help you build and retain your knowledge in the HVAC field. Below you will find descriptions for what we cover in each of our classes. Always remember to double check the duration of the class and if you will be gaining hours for certifications.

Understanding Electrical Circuits

This 3 day course gives a foundation for all other classes. We cover OHMs Law and Electrical Circuit Basics. Hands-on circuit building, capacitor checks and troubleshooting motor tear down with static pressure testing.

Understanding Gas Furnace

Article 430 - Motors

This course covers duct design and the install of furnaces. Gas pressure testing, static pressure testing, PSC motors, constant torque motors and v-speed motors. Proper venting and CO2 testing.
This course has been approved for 8 hours CEUs toward Washington State Electrical Licenses.

NATE Core

North American Technical Excellence courses will prep you for the test and directly after we will proctor the test for you.

NEC Update

This 8-hour course is designed to keep you up to date on the latest edition NEC electrical codes. Recommended attending before taking the Washington State Electrical License Exam.

EPA

EPA Section 608
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires anyone handling or buying refrigerant to have this certification. We prep and then provide the test. 

Precision Tune Up

This two day class is designed to help all levels of technicians know the proper procedures for performing the ultimate precision tune up in a safe and efficient manner and how to identify weak components to prevent early breakdowns. We will cover: How to properly test all safety switches, how to test complete system operation, how to properly test pressure switches, proper heat exchanger inspection, how to set gas pressure and verify proper air flow, evaporator freeze thermostats, how to check refrigerant pressures and temperatures, quickly and easily check system charging, coil cleaning methods, taking readings on electrical components, cleaning condensate lines and pumps, running a zoning system through its paces and checking bypass operation, how to test for proper operation of IAQ accessories.

Understanding HP/AC Service and Install

HVAC in the NEC

HVAC in the NEC

This 3 day course is designed to give all levels of technicians a deeper understanding of the different phases of refrigerant during Heat Pump & AC operation and how to troubleshoot system operation. This class has an abundance of hands-on practice in our training lab. They will learn refrigeration theory and how to apply it, safe brazing techniques and what superheat and sub-cooling are.
This course has been approved for 8 hours CEUs toward Washington State Electrical Licenses

NATE Heat Pump

Electrical Theory

This 4-hour course covers, electrical circuits, improve competency in proper electrical diagnostics, understand Electron Theory, AC/DC circuits, apply Ohms Law in HVAC circuits, use ladder diagrams in sequence of operation.

RCW / WAC Code Update

This 4-hour course covers current adopted Revised Code of Washington (RCW) 19.28 and related Washington Administrative Codes (WAC). Recommended attending before taking the Washington State Electrical License Exam.
